Struggling
to emerge from the shadow of her father, the captain of the Academy,
Stacy Sheridan first accepted a desk job tracking down information
for Hooker, Romano
& Corrigan.
Always willing to take a risk, Sheridan willfully offered herself up as an undercover prostitute on many occasions, much to the delight of Hooker and the consternation of Corrigan. She even took her own turn as an undercover exotic dancer, but her dull, finger-snapping and foot-shuffling display of ennui was hardly as effective as Vince Romano's own turn as a top-hatted male exotic dancer extraordinaire. Whether it's helping out models who are oppressed by a philanthropic rapist, or portraying a Mother Mary figure by taking in a stray child for a Christmas episode, Sheridan proved that there could be a sensitive side to all this rough-and-tumble police work. It's only later, when she and fellow officer Jim Corrigan are romantically linked, that viewers get to see the woman behind the awful baton throw depicted in the series' opening credits.
